JOB TITLE: Site Monitor
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
WORK SCHEDULE: As scheduled, including shifts and weekends
DEFINITION
This position is responsible for supervising the movement of residents on a twenty-four hour basis. Individual will maintain building security and resident accountability. Responsibilities also include maintaining order within facility and enforcing rules and regulations. Individual will prioritize emergency and non-emergency issues and use discretion in various situations.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency and two years related experience required. An Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or a related discipline may be substituted for the 2 year related experience requirement. An Associates degree and two years related experience is preferred. Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required.
Ability to function in a team setting. Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Supervisory experience is highly desirable. Must be able to work well with people and have the ability to be assertive and remain calm in the event of a crisis and be capable of maintaining control in any given situation. Computer literacy is a must.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS
A. Supervise the movement of residents on a twenty-four hour basis.
1. Complete daily head counts.
2. Walk though and around the facility on regular basis.
3. Check residents in and out of the center.
4. Log residents’ activities.
5. Communicate between floors and buildings, using different devices.
6. Log late arrivals to the center.
7. Pick up residents from different agencies and medical appointments.
8. Activate/Close out residents.
9. Review occurrences with next shift.
B. Searches/Tests
1. Search residents and their belongings.
2. Administer alcolyser tests.
3. Obtain urine samples.
4. Conduct pat and strip searches.
5. Supervise distribution of residents’ medications/Audits medication book
6. Search common areas, living quarters, and administrative areas.
C. Plans
1. Read and understand monitor & resident manuals.
2. Reads and understand emergency plans for all of the centers.
3. Conduct drills like evacuation plans, etc. as required by policies and procedures.
D. Verifications
1. Complete employment verifications.
2. Complete phone verifications for community release activities.
3. Perform site verifications.
4. Call to verify residents are at pass site or while on home confinement.
E. Clerical/Admin. Functions
1. Answer telephone and facsimile letters in secretary’s absence.
2. Complete various forms, logs, intake papers, etc.
3. Wake-up residents at designated times and insure they are in bed at lights out and not late for meals, etc.
4. Provide intake papers for new residents
5. Inventory clothing and personal belongings of new residents.
6. Key elevator floors for residents who have passes.
7. Page Case Managers when discrepancies occur.
8. Distribute resident mail.
9. Print/fax count.
10. Oversee NA/AA meetings.
11. Write up incident reports.
12. Read daily log before starting the shift activities.
13. Follow guidelines for escaped residents as outlined in pre-release procedures.
F. Building Security
1. Secure and protect building and other assets of the agency from willful destruction.
2. Monitor security cameras, fire alarm panels, and other security panels.
3. Change and view VCR tapes nightly.
4. Secures all doors that are left unlocked.
5. Ask visitors for ID.
6. Oversee all resident visitations.
7. Check with visitors for weapons & secure weapons in safe.
G. Cleaning/Maintenance
1. Supervise cleaning details.
2. Distribute chemicals for cleaning to resident, and secure & store after the process.
3. Construct weekly detail list
4. Check to make sure all details are done.
5. Make sure everyone reports to kitchen for detail
6. Stock water, toilet paper, and chemicals.
7. Distribute toilet paper
8. Distribute linens.
9. Oversee garbage detail.
H. Emergency
1. Administer first aid/CPR if necessary
2. Transport residents to hospital if necessary
3. Report all escapes, using proper procedures.
4. Communicate with fire marshal and fire department.
I. Other duties and assignments as required.
