Workforce Development

From day one, when an individual enters Renewal, Inc.’s program, the staff takes an active role in ensuring that the person has a rewarding pre-employment experience and is set up for success. Each participant is assigned a case manager (CM) who works with them one-on-one throughout the program.

Reentry Case Managers

Reentry Case managers are available to help identify and obtain job opportunities as well as assist with various other reentry needs. Moving forward, all participants have continual access to Renewal, Inc.’s resources, to address mental health concerns or substance abuse disorders, and to strengthen and enhance critical social skills needed to succeed in the workplace.

Workforce Development works with employers in the greater Pittsburgh area as well as schools and resources, all available at the Reentry Center.

GETPAID®

Gaining Employment Through Planning, Advocacy, Initiative, and Dedication

GETPAID® is a 6-month on-the-job employment training program for individuals reentering the workforce. The training program assists individuals with records in finding sustainable employment.

In the GETPAID® Program you will receive:

Employment assessment
Pre-employment and employment readiness training and support services
Employment counseling and development

A Groundskeeper Supervisor is the liaison with the employer and helps with job coaching and other tools that will assist the individual’s success.

Currently Renewal partners with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership. The Renewal Clean Team is made up of Renewal’s Groundskeeper Supervisor and individuals in our GETPAID® program. Duties include pressure washing the alleyways, streets and sidewalks in downtown Pittsburgh. Additional work is available through this partnership during the colder months as we look to expand our services.
